  Former Teton Gravity Research Cinematographer Vance Shaw has traveled and worked around the world shooting and skiing some of the most mind blowing slopes out there. Shaw grew up in Northern California where he began his fervor for skiing at an early age. He skied in front of the camera for the likes of Scott Markewitz, Chris Noble and Lee Cohen for five years with photos seen in Powder Magazine. Shaw worked behind the camera as cinematographer for TGR for seven years. Shaw filmed TGR movies in remote locations in Canada, USA, Europe, New Zealand and at numerous world class resorts across the globe. Shaw’s segments earned two “Powder Skiing Segments of the year” from Powder Magazine, one of the highest accolades in the ski film industry and won “Ski Movie of the Year” twice. Shaw’s still photography has appeared in productions such as Powder Magazine, Skiing and Ski Magazines and Patagonia and Black Diamond Catalogues. In 2008 Shaw and his family settled down in the town of Revelstoke BC and straight away Shaw began putting together the documentary “REV: A Buried Treasure.”
