• Mama Cora: Shirley Murdock | bio

  Shirley Murdock was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. She gave her life to the Lord at the age of 15. She lived in Columbus, Ohio for a short time and traveled all over the country with T.E.T.R.E.C. (The End Time Revival Evangelistic Crusade) In the early 80’s, Shirley met the legendary Roger Troutman and was signed to Elektra Records, and with a string of R&B hits and gold albums, she was catapulted to the forefront of the music industry. After meeting the world renowned Bishop T.D. Jakes, not only did he feature her on his 1999 Sacred Love Songs release, he signed her to his label, Dexterity Records. The new millennium brought Shirley her first Stellar Nominated gospel CD, entitled Home. It also brought more clarity to the call on her life…to preach the word of God! As an evangelist Shirley understands that she is called to the church to encourage and exhort. Her call to the world is summed up in the Great Commission... “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature...” Shirley says, “ It’s wonderful to look out at the faces of those that I’m singing to and see they’re being encouraged and uplifted, but after I preach the word of God, and they catch hold of that word and come to the altar to change their lives…nothing compares to that and I’ve been blessed to do both! I am truly humbled by that fact and just want to walk worthy of this calling to the ministry of reconciliation!” Shirley serves at Solid Rock Church in Monroe, Ohio under the leadership of co-pastors Lawrence and Darlene Bishop. She co-hosts the gospel talk-show “Sisters.” She stands by her husband of 19 years, Rev. Dale Anthony DeGroat, Assistant Pastor of Second Missionary Baptist Church, Springfield, Ohio. They currently reside in Dayton, Ohio and have one son, Devin Alexander DeGroat, age 15. God, in his grace, is continuing to extend her territory and she truly understands that, to whom much is given, much is required! Her latest CD entitled, SOULFOOD, is nominated fo 3 Stellar Awards and includes the video for the single, I Love Me Better Than That. SOULFOOD is available now at her product table and in stores everywhere!

• Director: Willioneta "Neita" Pittman | bio

  A self described "Child of Theatre" having accomplished in acting, play directing and playwritting, Neita Pittman is a Texas native with a taste of Yankee in her blood as both of her natural parented resided in New York City before she was born in Jasper, Texas.

  She had numerous acting and directing credits in her hometown of Beaumont, Texas. She wrote and directed the plays, The Cheat Sheet and Hand of Love whle in college. While in college, she won numerous awards such as Best Female Technician, Best Supporting Actress, Outstanding Fine Arts and Best Actress of Cardinal Theatre.

  Neita currently lives in Houston, Texas where she has cowritten the plays "There Is One In Every Family" and "Sisterly Love". When she is not writing herself, she teaches Playwriting, Introduction to Theatre and History of African American Theatre at the University of Houston Downtown. She also teaches high school performing arts classes in the Alief Independent School District. Neita has a Theatre degree and Master's degree in Public Address from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.

• Writer: Barbara Hudson | bio

  Writing has always been a passion of Barbara Hudson. Barbara writes with a vision to help others. Writing allows her to give testimony to both men and women with hope that they hear and retrieve blessings from her story line.

  A native of San Antonio, Texas, Barbara's career started in "Corporate America". For many years, she stifled what she knew was a gift from God, her writing. She eventually moved to Houston, Texas where her writing career began.

  Barbara began to achieve success; especially once word got out that she had the ability to write in a manner of true "Drama". Because of this rare gift, a production began to take shape. The powerful words were put into a format in which the audience was hungry for "True Real Life Drama". Barbara took a dream on the road and the dream took off and soared to the souls of many.

  Igniting the stage, Barbara has written productions such as "There Is One In Every Family" and "Sisterly Love". The writing style is that of drama with a little laughter, but a style in which the intent is to reach a broader audience. Barbara decided to write in a manner in which anyone can identify with. She writes in hopes that her audience will walk away knowing that no matter how deep the sand sinks the Lord still catches you. Barbara has worked with entertainers such as Jamie Fox, Jerome of Morris Day & The Tymes, Morris Day, Alexander O'Neal Cherelle, David Whitaker and many others.

  One thing for sure is that there is more to come! There are powerful testimonies to share and in her writing, there's a ministry for everyone. Determination, perseverance & confidence, are gifts that she has received from God. She asks that the world make room for a new writer with many true life stories to share.
